Fox Hat!

Congratulations Tricia, and thanks for everyone who entered!

I will be spending the rest of tonight and tomorrow making ornaments and hopefully posting a few more teaser pictures before I post the finished tree. Hope you have a great night!

Cold Morning, Hot Tea & Teaser Photos!

I finally gathered all of my tree elements last night and started assembling. I have the base completed, a good start on the ornaments and high hopes for the tree topper. :) Here are your hints:

Tree Teaser #2

Tree Teaser #3

Any guesses to my theme? I have practice this morning, but I'll be working on it all evening and all of tomorrow. I'm so excited to finish. I've also been planning a lot of posts for December with recipes, project ideas and of course a giveaway! You won't want to miss it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

IMG_3040

We had a great Thanksgiving! Plenty of family and visiting, but at a slower relaxed pace. Way more than enough food. A little bit of shopping - tree trimmings! And it snowed! Love. All closed with pie and hot chocolate with Bailey's. So delicious! My aunt and cousin made the pies from scratch filling to crust. I hope your holiday was just as wonderful!

We're settling in now for the night with the puppies and a new Korean film - The Good, the bad and the weird. It has one of my favorite Korean actors in it and looks really good. I'll let you know how we like it. Night!

Giveaway #4

It's time for the final November giveaway! I absolutely love this time of year. I would most likely go into a into a reclusive hibernation mourning the loss of fall if it weren't for the holidays coming up immediately behind it's demise.

I am so amped for everything about the holidays starting with my tree. I am actually taking a day off on Monday to work on it. Can't wait!

This year my parents are in Florida for Thanksgiving so we had our family gathering in October. That frees up some time usually spent driving and gives us more relaxing time with Jeff's family. He just left for the store to pick up a few supplies for our meal contributions: Asian style green beans and stuffing. I'll be cooking and baking the rest of the night and trying to make plans with far away friends migrating back home.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is already tomorrow. Even more shocking... it's supposed to be 32 freezing degrees tomorrow. It's time to give up on denial. Winter is upon us and I'm busting out the cold weather  gear. If you're looking to add a new item to your collection, look no further...

This weeks giveaway is a fox hat with ear flaps!

It was crocheted using a poly wool blend making it breathable and warm. It also features a cute pair of vintage button eyes.

Vintage Buttons

Fun side note: I collect vintage buttons and store them in huge vintage glass jars. While sorting through them to find the eyes for the hat I found this fake engagement ring. Clearly not my size and I have no previous memories of it, but how did I not notice it before? It has a worn stamp on the inside of the band that I can't make out so I might take it somewhere to be looked at out of curiosity. (Excuse my man hands)

Tricia! I will be emailing you shortly with the details!

This was a very busy weekend. Yesterday I spent the bulk of the day working on a secret project that will be announced in January. When that was finished I took a quick power nap and then spent the rest of the night working a formal charity event.

Today I slept in, went to lunch with friends and spent the rest of the day shopping and planning my holiday decorations. I'm really excited about what I've come up with! I'll be posting teasers as I get them completed. I also picked up these awesome flowers while I was out. They look like they have feathers! There is some eucalyptus in the bouquet as well and now the house smells delicious.

I wanted to see Harry Potter tonight, but after the long weekend I think I'll enjoy a quiet evening at home. Making dinner, cleaning house and starting holiday decor while we watch Walking Dead.

The final giveaway will be announced on Wednesday, be sure to check back and enter!

That's Awesome!

Top 5 things that currently inspire or amuse me:

Elan ... Knitted Neckwarmer / Scarflette - Chocolate Brown

1. This stunning knit scarflette by irregular expresions.

2. The exquisite styling on Madmen.

3. Novembeards! Hahaha!

4. This epic print I recently bought at a craft fair.

5. This charming wall clock originally featured on design sponge.

I'm sewing again tonight. I can't decide if I should make cocoa or coffee...

Still Wednesday?

It's not tomorrow until you wake up right? I've totally not slept yet and it's time for November giveaway #3!

The weather continues to get more and more chilly but there are still a few warm days. These are great opportunities to show off fall hair accessories before you're forced into your winter hat.

Buttons & Ribbons & YoYo's - Oh my!

This giveaway will be for a set of three hair clips. Two for fall and one for the looming winter. All have snap closures and are made primarily from felt, ribbon and buttons.

Giveaway #3

Holidazzle Hairclip

Pink Spotted Hairclip

Being crazy busy and staying up really late will do a lot of things. Unfortunately one of them is providing horrible light for photos. Forgive me. I'll try to get some others tomorrow. Tonight is just pushing me ever closer to building a lightbox. *Le Sigh*

And the winner is...

Natalie! I'll be emailing you details soon!

I had an awesome weekend. The highlight being my first game skating with the Rebel Skate Alliance. Having been off skates for over a month prior to our first game I wasn't expecting to skate a lot. I got in one jam during the first half which was awesome and the spent the rest of the game on the edge of my seat. It was close the whole way through and all of my teammates were incredible! I have three weeks to tighten up before our next game. So excited!

Hot Cocoa!

Tonight is really chilly. We're curled up on the couch with hot cocoa and popcorn watching Harry Potter and waiting for the 3rd episode of Walking Dead. I'm obsessed. It's so well done. If you have any interest at all in zombies I would HIGHLY recommend it! 9pm - A&E. Loves!

The next giveaway will be announced on Wednesday so check back and leave a comment for your chance to win!

Gah!

I worked late tonight and then went straight to practice. When I got there I was tired and skating sloppy and then 2/3 of the way in I fell and somehow lost my whole knee pad.

IMG_2841

I skinned my knee for the first time in 20 years! That sentence makes me feel old. I'm going to have a glass of wine and then work on my first holiday craft project. I'm pretty excited about it.

Here's a sneek peek:

Bento #6

5165218023_e0438434ff_z
Super quick lunch! I just popped the potato in the microwave while I jumped in the shower, grabbed a few toppings when I got out and lunch was ready. The broccoli steamed in it's container at work while the potato reheated. Definitely one to repeat!

Contents:

  • Baked Potato
  • Broccoli
  • Cheddar Cheese Shreds
  • Cherry tomatoes
